Tracing of an embroidery design for a book cover. Symmetrical pattern geometric foliage border, with a double heart shaped symmetrical design of Tudor roses inside.

Central diamond contains faint writing that is possibly Bones and I. Bones and I, or The Skeleton at Home is a humorous novel written by G. J. Whyte-Melville, a 19th-century British author known for his sporting and comedic works. Embroidering book covers had been popular for devotional texts and special gifts in the 16th and 17th centuries and enjoyed a revival in the 19th century as part of the Arts and Crafts Movement.
