Creator
Royal School of Needlework: Created by the Royal School of Art Needlework as miniaturised versions of designs. Original designs were miniaturised and either traced or copied onto 'Design Cards' which were sent out to clients for next day approval. This was part of the work of the 'Painting Room' sometimes referred to as the Paintroom, the department responsible for all design and draftsmanship.
Image, Selwyn: Selwyn Image (17 February 1849 – 21 August 1930) was a designer associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement. He designed across multiple media, and is particularly known for his stained glass windows, but also designed furniture, embroidery and illustrated books. He contributed designs over a number of years to the Royal School of Art Needlework. He was also the seventh Slade Professor of Fine Art at the University of Oxford from 1910 to 1916.

Scope and content
Design card recording four designs labelled in pencil 'Image', 'Iris', 'Con: Iris', 'Sligo'
'Image' design, presumably by Arts and Crafts Movement designer Selwyn Image, who provided a number of designs to the Royal School of Art Needlework (later the Royal School of Nedlework) shows three tulips, and is the same as D1/30.
'Iris' design has the words 'Blotter' in the design and shows three irises, the central one is larger, same design in D1/30. Ribbon motif round text. Presumably designed for a blotter or folio holding blotting paper.
'Con:Iris' design shows entwined Iris flowers and leaves. The Con. may be an abbreviation for the designers name but which designer this might have been is currently unknown.
"Sligo' shows an exotic bunch of flowers including tulips and crown imperial (Fritillaria imperialis) in centre of design. Again as the name Sligo does not seem to relate to the flower type it may be a reference to the designer. Sligo is also a town in northwest Ireland.
Stamped Painting Room which was the department responsible for design at the Royal School of Art Needlework.
